The Chenango Valley Central School District Board of Education, located in the southern tier of New York State, is seeking a highly qualified educational leader to fill the position of Superintendent of Schools. The confidential search process will be conducted over the next several months, with the successful candidate beginning employment on or about July 1, 2023.

The Successful Candidate
The Chenango Valley Central School District is seeking an educational leader with a proven record of administrative accomplishments. The board has identified several characteristics that are most desirable in the new superintendent. The candidate should be one who:
O Shows a genuine concern for children, as demonstrated by listening, being visible and known to them, and being involved in their education and activities.
O Has demonstrated a history of integrity and respect. Has a leadership style built upon trust, enthusiasm, compassion, courtesy, transparency, attention to detail, and strong moral
and ethical values.
O Is able to foster a strong educational culture and climate.
O Is approachable and a good communicator, building positive relationships with administrators, teachers, staff, students, parents, and community members.
O Fosters an environment of inclusiveness and celebrates differences in each person.
O Exhibits patience and professionalism in dealing with others.
O Will be active and visible in our schools and the community.
O Recognizes the challenges a district faces while supporting the students and staff on a daily basis.
O Brings innovative ideas which will engage students and continually drive academic achievement.
O Has the ability to assess and evaluate all levels of the organization and make appropriate fiscal recommendations and decisions.
O Has a passion for learning and is excited to Engage, Inspire and Empower the next generation of Warriors.

About Chenango Valley

The Chenango Valley Central School District consists of two elementary school buildings and one middle/high school building. Students in pre-K through grade 2 attend Port Dickinson Elementary, students in grades 3-5 attend Chenango Bridge Elementary, students in grades 6-8 attend the CV Middle School, and students in grades 9-12 attend the CV High School. With approximately 1,650-1,700 students and around 340 employees, the district offers a small-town learning environment emphasizing individualized attention and high expectations.
