The Mamaroneck Union Free School District is widely known for its innovative and high-caliber academic programs that allow students to find and grow their passions through hands-on experiences across multiple disciplines. Mamaroneck’s 5,454 students, which include residents from the adjacent Village of Larchmont,  attend one of six schools - four elementary, one middle and one high school - with the majority of class sizes having 21 students or less. The high school graduation rate is 96% with a 95% college acceptance rate.

A commitment to introducing students to real-world experiences and problem-solving begins at the elementary level through dual-language, STEM, digital skills, humanities and the arts.  Modeled on college-level programs in the arts and sciences, students at the middle and high schools have the opportunity to take a wide range of core and elective classes that allow for authentic learning. Among our noteworthy offerings and commitments are

• The Performing Arts Curriculum Experience (PACE) at Mamaroneck High School offers students four progressive years of study in theater, dance, and music;
• STEM education begins at the elementary level with two dedicated STEM coaches, progresses to middle school where students take courses such as Genetics and Computer Science to foster inquiry and questioning and progresses to MHS where students  have the option to enroll in a wide variety of AP Science, Math and Computer Science classes;
• MHS also features a new 5,000 square foot STEAM space, with leading-edge equipment, in which electives ranging from architecture to engineering, woodworking to robotics are taught, allowing students to collaborate on projects requiring multiple disciplines. This compliments the launch of the school’s new state-of-the-art culinary lab in which students take one of three full-year electives;
• Original Civic Research in Action (OCRA) is a four-year program at MHS that helps students become civic entrepreneurs by guiding them as they identify needs in their community and, in turn, develop and implement community-based civic action projects with the assistance of local mentors/experts;
• a robust, inclusive, and student-centered continuum of services and supports to help all students reach their full potential;
• a District Equity Plan, developed by a well-rounded Equity Team, guides the District’s work to identify, acknowledge, and dismantle any systemic barriers that prevent equity and access for all students. In addition, the District created a Director-level position for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.

Finally, the Mamaroneck Union Free School District  places enormous value on student voice and provides safe spaces and opportunities for our students to be heard, along with opportunities for civic engagement. Our middle and high schools have many  clubs in addition to  a multitude of school events about cultures, ideas and political ideology, hobbies, athletics, arts and volunteer opportunities. The students’ passions and leadership are considered part of the fabric of the District.
