The Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District Board of Education seeks an experienced and passionate leader who will support the community's longstanding commitment to educational excellence. The Board of Education has asked the OCM BOCES District Superintendent, Matthew L. Cook, Ed.D., to assist and advise the Board in the selection process.
The small suburban district outside of Syracuse, NY has about 2400 students and 502 dedicated staff members across five buildings. The district's mission supports "an uncompromising commitment to excellence in preparing students to achieve and succeed, to respect themselves and others, and to practice life-long learning in an ever-changing, richly diverse global society. The district offers a comprehensive academic program, including honors and accelerated programs in nine subject areas; 13 Advanced Placement courses; a Project Lead the Way pre-engineering sequence affiliated with the Rochester Institute of Technology; and opportunities for concurrent enrollments with Syracuse University Project Advance, Onondaga Community College and the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
Experience as a superintendent or in a central office position is strongly preferred. Residency in the district is encouraged, but not required.
