Westchester County, New York | www.northsalemschools.org  North Salem is a residential community located in the northeastern corner of Westchester County. With a district population of 5,000 and a student population of 1,100, North Salem is best  described as being quaint in size, and abundant in opportunities. With a unique mix of horse farms,  rolling hills and suburban housing, this community benefits from ease of access to New York City which is about 50 miles away.  Our district is composed of two buildings. Our elementary school is home to 400 students in grades  K through 5. The second building is occupied by our middle school/high school, housing 300  students in grades 6 thru 8 and 400 students in grades 9 thru 12.
