The Tully Central School District superintendency is an excellent administrative opportunity. The Board plans to offer a salary and benefits package commensurate with experience and competitive with the region. The successful candidate will be offered a 3-year contract with an annual performance review. Residency in the district is welcomed.
The Tully Central School District has an enrollment of 729 students, located in southern Onondaga County in the center of the village of Tully. The district prides itself on being one of the last remaining community school districts in New York State, and the focal point of the Tully area. Within a short drive are several excellent hospitals and institutions of higher education, including Syracuse University, SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Onondaga Community College, and Le Moyne College, among others. Also located nearby are the Everson Museum of Art, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, and the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science and Technology. There are four ski resorts within 20 minutes of the village, and the area also has county parks and public lakes, providing opportunities for numerous recreational activities.
The Board seeks an educational leader who has proven leadership, management and communication skills that are effective for a small, economically diverse area. The Board is looking for a superintendent willing to engage the Tully community to build upon the district's demonstrated academic excellence through continuous improvement.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will:
Have experience as a superintendent, assistant superintendent or principal, or in a comparable central office position;
Have success in providing instructional leadership;
Possess the ability to manage the school district's fiscal resources;
Possess the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with parents and other community members; and,
Demonstrate a high level of personal and professional integrity and exemplary interpersonal skills.
