GENERAL DUTIES Responsible for programs and personnel involved in the operation of the fiscal and business support services and facilities. Responsible for the development, revision, and implementation of Board Policies and Administrative Regulations as they pertain to the business operation - budget development, accounting procedures, labor negotiations, food services, maintenance and operations, demographics, transportation, purchasing, warehousing, and facility planning.
QUALIFICATIONS Masters Degree New York State Administrative Certificate (one of the following): New York State School District Administrative Certificate (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) or School District Business Leader
SUPERVISES Business office, transportation, food service vendor and facility staff members.
REPORTS TO Superintendent of Schools
RESPONSIBILITIES Advises and assists the Superintendent on all business and financial matters Supervises all the financial responsibilities of the Business Office and implements efficient Business Office practices Prepares and recommends policies concerning business and support activities Assists and advises building and district administrators on finance and operational issues Works cooperatively with the Superintendent, Principals and Directors to ensure effective programs and assist in implementation plans when necessary Ensures a food service program that meets the nutritional needs of the students Works with the Director of Facilities regarding operations and maintenance of facilities Applies knowledge and procedures in administering, processing and managing employee benefit programs Works cooperatively with union leadership representatives and develops data to support negotiations Ensures a transportation program that meets the needs of the students Demonstrates knowledge of safe and efficient student transportation, including statutory and regulatory requirements, efficient routing, schedule development, training, and oversight practices Assists and supports the Superintendent in the development and coordination of the District’s annual budget Prepares clear analysis of the budget to the Board and the public and interprets any financial concerns Directs the annual audit of the school’s financial records and presents an analysis of the District’s financial position; coordinates annual internal audit Develops long-range financial plans for the District Supervises and/or handles bond issue and energy performance contract finances, cash flow, communication with architect, direction of construction, scheduling change orders, necessary purchases, and completion of required reports. Establishes and maintains payroll procedures and supervises payroll operations Assists staff in completing grant applications as appropriate for the District. Provides fiscal and business management information in support of state and federal grant applications Develop relations with local, state and federal political representatives as well as the business community Coordinates the activities of the Citizens Budget Advisory Committee and Audit Committee Attends board meetings, community and board level committee meetings as directed by the Superintendent Assumes other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Superintendent

The Mount Pleasant Central School District is located in the heart of Westchester County and serves approximately 2,000 students in grades K-12. The district encompasses the hamlets of Hawthorne and Thornwood, as well as portions of Valhalla and Pleasantville.
