The Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction (AS) is primarily responsible for the character and quality of the district’s regular instructional program, including staff recruitment and development of curriculum. In a line relationship under the AS are members of the Curriculum Network. The AS provides them with leadership and coordination in the areas of his/her responsibility. The AS will work in a collaborative manner with the Principals in leading the curriculum network.
Effectiveness in this position is dependent upon cooperative partnerships with the Principals of the buildings, who are responsible for the day-to-day operation and programming within their buildings.
Certification as a School District Administrator is required.
Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral Degree from accredited institutions. Coursework must include Administration, Supervision, and Curriculum.
Minimum of five years teaching, administration, or supervision.
