The Chenango Forks Central School District Board of Education is seeking a highly qualified educational leader to fill the position of superintendent of schools. The board s seeking an educational leader with a proven record of administrative accomplishments. The successful candidate should have the capacity to build trust and communicate and maintain confidence with the board, staff and community. The successful candidate will be one who: - Possesses or is eligible for certification as a NYS school district administrator - Will be active and visible in our schools and community - Has outstanding written and oral communication skills - Is committed to reaching out to staff, parents, students and the community in developing a vision and plans for the district - Is able to build community support for the district’s vision, mission and goals - Has a thorough knowledge of elementary and secondary education and experience as an administrator - Understands the difference between being a “manager” and a “leader” and can demonstrate excellence in both - Exhibits good judgment, is patient in dealing with others, and has shown evidence of stability and integrity under pressure - Deals well with conflict situations and takes all sides of the conflict into consideration - Is approachable and able to communicate with people from all walks of life with honesty, integrity, and sincerity

Additional Salary Information: The new superintendent will be offered a three-year contract with a salary commensurate with area schools. The board has set a salary range of $140,000 to $160,000 and is offering a generous benefits package. It is imperative that the successful candidate have a commitment to community involvement, and the board prefers that he/she reside in the Chenango Forks Central School District; however, residency within the Broome-Tioga BOCES region would be acceptable.
