From the Board The Dutchess BOCES is seeking applicants for District Superintendent. The successful candidate will serve as the educational leader and Chief Executive Officer of the agency. In that role, the Superintendent communicates issues and concerns to the attention of state leaders as the region's direct representative to the New York State Education Department. The District Superintendent will have the ability to interpret, articulate, communicate, and provide assistance in the implementation of state education laws, rules and regulations. The District Superintendent must develop quality and essential programs and services for participating districts, recruit and maintain personnel, and uphold sound fiscal practices.

Terms of Employment District Superintendents are appointed with the approval of the Commissioner of Education. The successful candidate will be offered a salary and benefits package within the legislated definitions, depending upon background, qualifications and experience, up to the legal limitations. This position requires possession of a New York State administrative certificate or qualifications that lead to a New York State administrative certificate.

About the Region Dutchess County is in the heart of the Hudson Valley, midway between New York City and Albany.
