The Westbury Union Free School District (https://www.westburyschools.org) is searching for a Superintendent of Schools. The Board, which consists of 7 members, seeks an innovative and visionary leader to lead the district and be a champion for our student scholars in reaching their maximum potential. The District is located on Long Island in Westbury, New York (https://www.villageofwestbury.org), just 25 miles east of NYC, and serves the needs of nearly 5,000 students in grades PreK – 12. The student body is 75% Hispanic, 21% black and 4% Asian or other ethnic groups. The district has 6 schools (1 pre-k/k facility, 3 elementary schools serving grades 1-5, 1 middle school and 1 high school) and 780 fulltime employees.  All schools have received Good Standing designations, NYS’s highest designation. It has been recognized for having one of the 10 highest rates of graduation of boys of color in the state. The District has a supportive community which has voted to approve 9 consecutive annual budgets in addition to a $58 million bond referendum to expand two of its schools. It enjoys the best financial indicator assessment given by the state and maintains reserves well in excess of the recommended minimums.

The Board expects to offer an initial multi-year contract with an annual salary and benefits package that is regionally competitive, commensurate with experience. The position begins July 1, 2021.
