The Gouverneur Central School District covers about 221 square miles and is northeast of both Watertown and Fort Drum.
The new Superintendent must have:
Experience as a chief school officer, central office administrator, or building administrator.
Administrative skills and success working with staff, students and community members.
The ability to multi-task and to use data and educational research in district planning and evaluation.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Working knowledge of school finance, specifically budget planning and long term financial management.
The desire to lead and motivate staff and community to support and improve instructional program.
Courage as an educational leader who loves learning and who delights in helping children develop to their full potential.
