The Wissahickon School District seeks a dynamic, collaborative, relationship-oriented individual with integrity, visionary leadership, superior communication skills, and outstanding, transparent administrative ability to serve as the Assistant Superintendent. The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for providing district-wide leadership in all matters related to teaching and learning, and serves as the backup to the Superintendent in his/her absence. 12-month, full-time position. Student enrollment 5,000; grades K-12; six schools.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Oversight of the teaching and learning program, including professional development, curriculum design and implementation, evaluation of instructional process; coordination and monitoring of the new teacher induction process; responsibility for the creation and implementation of the district strategic planning process. Oversees the District Assessment Program, analyzes achievement results and assists with plans for improvement. Supervises three Directors in the areas of Curriculum & Instruction, Student Services and Technology.

Superintendent’s Certificate OR Letter of Eligibility is required. Minimum of five (5) years of administrative experience required; central office experience preferred. The successful candidate must demonstrate extensive knowledge of K-12 teaching and learning best practices. Must have expertise in data analysis, curriculum development, and teachers evaluation.
