is seeking an exceptional, leader to serve as its new
Superintendent of Schools

The Board of Education plans to offer a three-year contract with a salary in the range of $115,000 to $130,000 depending upon the preparation, qualifications, experience, and educational leadership of the successful candidate. A competitive benefits package will be provided.
The Jefferson Central School District serves approximately 200 students from six townships in New York’s Northern Catskills region. All students are housed in a K-12 Building.
The successful candidate will be someone who…
• Is an Experienced Leader
with a proven track record of success, able to provide a vision for the future of the district and inspire staff, students and community to achieve that vision, as well as demonstrating political leadership at the state and local level to support the school and community.
•Has Knowledge of School Finances, fiscally responsible and understands long-range financial planning.
• Is an Instructional Leader who supports staff development and research-based practices and is capable of motivating the school community to improve academic outcomes for students.
•Demonstrates Strong Communication Skills, capable of listening, developing, articulating and implementing the district’s goals and plans.
•Demonstrates Integrity, maintaining the highest levels of professional and personal ethics and conduct.
• Is a Problem Solver, skilled in identifying and analyzing problems, developing priorities and implementing practical solutions.
•Is Visible, Interactive and Involved, willing to meet and engage staff, students, parents and community members.
•Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively, engaging stakeholder groups and neighboring schools to explore and, where appropriate, implement opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and increase educational opportunities for students.
