Takes leadership in directing the development of the district budget including staffing needs, instructional materials and book needs
Maintains a current knowledge of and implements legal requirements in the preparation and administration of budgets
Reviews and updates receipts for purchased materials, supervises distribution of all supplies, library books, textbooks, and equipment
Manages federal grants
Supervising all district payroll functions
Reviews tuition billing and census data to ensure timely budget adjustments
Supervises and/or prepares the ST-3 any other state/federal financial reports
Ensures district complies with ACA regulations
Plans, organizes, administers, and directs the activities and operations of Business Services to ensure internal controls, and efficient cost-effective operations
Prepares recommendations and reports for the Superintendent and Board of Education, including comprehensive financial data covering all aspects of school finance
Reviews all contracts, agreements, and negotiation documents
Serves on the District negotiation team
Manages the District’s liability insurance and worker’s compensation programs.
Coordinates and manages all matters related to the external auditing of all fiscal aspects of programs for the District
Attends all regular and special meetings of the Board of Education and presents financial information in a comprehensive manner

Effectively manage cash flow
Assumes responsibility for maintaining all non-instructional, district-owned equipment in a condition of operational efficiency so as to ensure full educational use of the school plant and facilities
Keeps the Superintendent informed, and advises, assists, and works cooperatively with all other administrators in school-related matters
Attends administrative staff meetings and other appropriate professional meetings.
Performs other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent or as required by law, code, and regulation/School Board policy
Hold NYS certification in school district business leadership.
Leadership ability in school administration, grant development, supervision and evaluation.
Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations including but not limited to budgeting, accounting, auditing, payroll, transportation, facilities, maintenance, planning and oversight in a public school system.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The Mount Pleasant Cottage School UFSD is a Special Acts District that serves the educational needs of approximately 250 children residents of the Jewish Child Care Association Pleasantville campus as well as day students. The school district develops educational programs and utilizes related services to meet the diverse needs of our students.
