The Pleasant Hill School District is seeking an outstanding educational leader with a record of successful administrative experience to serve as superintendent. The district is located just outside of the city of Eugene in the beautiful Willamette Valley.
The final salary will be negotiated and determined based upon the finalist’s proven experience and meeting the board’s desired qualifications shown in this brochure. Contract length, terms, and benefits are negotiable. The current salary and benefits are competitive with comparable districts. The successful candidate must hold or qualify for the licensure required to be a superintendent in Oregon (proof of eligibility must be provided).
The Pleasant Hill School District serves approximately 990 students in two schools: a K-5 elementary school and a 6-12 middle/high school. Pleasant Hill has a statewide reputation for high quality educational programs and high-level achievement. The district’s academic programs and its staff have earned regional, state and national recognition. District test scores consistently rank significantly higher than the national average. The District completed the $17.995 million Bond project in 2017. The project included: Elementary—new addition, remodeled K-1 instructional areas, library, kitchen and cafeteria; Middle/High School – new classroom wings and auxiliary gym, remodeled student center, locker rooms and high school office; District – new bus loop, reconfigured parking lots, technology updates, improved safety and security.
The district has a staff of 103 employees and an annual budget of $15.9 million. Pleasant Hill schools serve students from Jasper, Dexter, Pleasant Hill and surrounding communities. The schools are the central focus for recreation, socializing, and strong support of the district’s educational programs. The district strives to provide outstanding educational opportunities for all students and prepare students to be good citizens.

The Pleasant Hill communities encompass about 113 square miles and include approximately 7,000 residents. Many district residents commute to work in the near-by communities of Eugene and Springfield. Occupations range from forestry and farming to professional. Eugene, Lane County’s largest city and the home of the University of Oregon, is just 15 minutes from the Pleasant Hill community. Pleasant Hill countryside consists of rolling hills and two major rivers, the middle fork and coast fork of the Willamette River, run through the area.
