The Board of Education of the Worcester Central School District announces a vacancy for a Superintendent of Schools.
Worcester Central School presently serves approximately 350 students enrolled in grades Pre-K - 12. All students are housed in a recently renovated and restored historic building. The campus features the Dubois Auditorium, a new library-media center, new science labs, state-of-the-art band and choral rooms, renovated classrooms, state-of-the-industry kitchen and serving areas and new athletic fields.
The Board of Education is prepared to offer the new Superintendent a three-year contract with the first year’s salary in the $115,000 to $130,000 range depending upon the background and experience of the successful candidate. An excellent benefit package will also be offered. Residency in the district is preferred.

Is a strong and creative educational leader, able to provide a vision for the future of the district and inspire staff, students and community to achieve that vision;
Has a clear understanding of and commitment to full participation in a rural school community;
Is committed to educational excellence and has high expectations for students and staff;
Demonstrates strong communication skills, capable of listening, developing, articulating and implementing the district’s goals and plans;
Demonstrates integrity, maintaining the highest levels of professional and personal ethics and conduct;
Is a problem solver, skilled in identifying and analyzing problems, developing priorities and implementing practical solutions;
Is visible, approachable, interactive and involved, willing to meet and engage staff, students, parents and community members;
Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively, engaging stakeholder groups and neighboring schools to explore and, where appropriate, implement opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and increase educational opportunities for students;
Has outstanding interpersonal skills and is able to develop positive and effective personal and public relations with staff, students and community;
Is fiscally responsible and knowledgeable of all aspects of budgeting, finance, state aid, and long range financial planning;
Has prior experience in all aspects of a capital project and understands the challenges of completing the project on time and within budget;
Has the ability to provide strong leadership in curriculum and instruction;
Is able to identify problems, establish priorities, implement solutions and evaluate results;
Has at least five years of administrative experience and possesses or is eligible for a New York State School District Administrator Certificate.
